PU & Lamination Adhesive for Metal
Two metal-adhesive systems from one manufacturer — a PVC / PET film-to-metal lamination adhesive for vinyl-coated steel and aluminum panels, and a structural 2K polyurethane for metal-to-metal, metal-to-foam and metal-to-composite bonding.
The right adhesive for every metal job
PUGLUE supplies both the adhesive that laminates colorful PVC / PET decorative film onto cold-rolled steel, aluminum and galvanized sheet — for PVC-coated steel doors, aluminum ceilings and appliance housings — and the structural 2K polyurethane that bonds metal to metal, foam and composite at 7–8 MPa for sandwich panels, fire doors and transport. Manufacturer-direct, with TDS and line support for both.

Two Metal Adhesive Systems
Choose by your process — decorative film lamination, or structural metal bonding.
PVC / PET Lamination Adhesive
Single-component, solvent-based adhesive that bonds colored PVC / PET decorative film to cold-rolled steel, aluminum and galvanized sheet on an oven lamination line — producing vinyl-coated “laminated steel” for doors, ceilings and appliance housings. High peel strength, deep-draw formable and corrosion-resistant.
Structural 2K PU Adhesive
Two-component, solvent-free polyurethane for metal-to-metal, metal-to-foam and metal-to-composite bonding — 7–8 MPa tensile shear, plasticizer-free and vibration-fatigue resistant. For sandwich panels, fire doors, truck / container and marine builds.
Metal Adhesive Types — and Which to Choose
Match the chemistry to your metal process and substrate.
| Adhesive type | Components | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| PVC / PET film lamination | 1K solvent-based | Vinyl-coated steel & aluminum panels | Oven-line lamination; >50 N peel, deep-draw formable, corrosion-resistant. PUGLUE core product. |
| Structural 2K PU | A + B, solvent-free | Metal-to-metal / foam / composite | 7–8 MPa shear, plasticizer-free, vibration-resistant, not foaming. |
| 1K moisture-cure PU (MPU-20) | Single-component | Metal skins to mineral / foam cores | Fire-rated grade for steel doors and panels. |
| Hot-melt / contact | 1K | Trim & quick tack | Lower heat / corrosion resistance — not for structural or formable parts. |

Lamination Performance
Tested properties of the PVC / PET-to-metal lamination adhesive.
High peel strength
PVC film-to-metal 180° peel strength >50 N (GB 2790-81) — film stays bonded through service.
Deep-draw formable
Erichsen deep-draw ≥5 mm — laminated sheet can be stamped and formed without delamination.
Corrosion-resistant
No abnormality after 120 h salt spray, 120 h 5% HCl and 20 h 1% NaOH immersion.
Fast line speed
Initial set in ≤5 s on the oven line; full bond strength after 24 h.
PVC Lamination Process
Runs on a mechanized lamination line with a heating oven.
Prepare the metal
De-rust, de-grease, clean, phosphate and dry the sheet. Electro-galvanized sheet can be used directly.
Coat the adhesive
Apply evenly at 40–50 g/m². Thin with high-grade butyl acetate if the glue is too viscous.
Oven & laminate
Ramp the sheet through the oven to 150–210°C, then immediately laminate the PVC / PET film on exit.
Cool & finish
Cool with cold water / air, apply a PE protective film, then cut, stamp or deep-draw.
Solvent-based adhesive — keep the workshop ventilated and free of open flame. The process is technical; contact us before a first run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Metal bonding & PVC-lamination adhesive — technical answers for metal fabricators.
What adhesive laminates PVC film onto steel or aluminum?
A single-component, solvent-based lamination adhesive. It bonds colored PVC / PET decorative film to cold-rolled steel, aluminum and galvanized sheet on an oven line, producing vinyl-coated “laminated steel” for doors, ceilings and appliance housings.
How strong is the film-to-metal bond?
180° peel strength is >50 N (GB 2790-81), and the laminate withstands Erichsen deep-draw of ≥5 mm so it can be stamped and formed without the film lifting.
Is the laminate corrosion-resistant?
Yes — it shows no abnormality after 120 h salt-spray, 120 h 5% hydrochloric acid and 20 h 1% sodium-hydroxide immersion.
What coating weight and oven temperature are used?
Apply 40–50 g/m² evenly; ramp the sheet through the oven to a substrate temperature of 150–210°C, then laminate the film immediately on exit and cool.
How do I prepare the metal surface?
De-rust, de-grease, clean, phosphate and dry the sheet. Electro-galvanized sheet can be laminated directly. If the glue is too viscous, thin with high-grade butyl acetate.
Do I need special equipment?
Yes — PVC lamination requires a mechanized coating-and-oven line with a film laminating and cooling station. The process is technical; we recommend contacting us before a first run.
Do you also supply structural metal-to-metal adhesive?
Yes. Our 2K solvent-free polyurethane bonds metal to metal, foam and composite at 7–8 MPa tensile shear, plasticizer-free and vibration-fatigue resistant — for sandwich panels, fire doors, trucks and shipbuilding.
What is the shelf life and packaging?
The lamination adhesive stores 6 months sealed in a cool place and ships in 200 kg galvanized drums.
Is the lamination adhesive flammable?
It is solvent-based with a mild odor — keep the workshop well ventilated and free of open flame, and follow standard solvent-handling safety.
Do you offer samples, TDS, MOQ and OEM?
Yes. We provide a full TDS, free samples, and OEM / private-label supply with manufacturer-friendly MOQs. Contact us for a quote matched to your line and substrate.
