Why insulation-panel plants choose PUGLUE

A solvent-free board adhesive for insulation panels

PUGLUE PU-50 is a two-component, solvent-free polyurethane (A : B = 5 : 1) that bonds XPS and EPS foam boards to rigid facings — calcium-silicate board, foamed-cement board, steel, aluminum and even marble and granite. It cures at room temperature, is thixotropic (no sag, no flash-off needed), reaches ≥99% solids with no benzene, formaldehyde or solvent, and gives boards excellent water, cold and weather resistance — the right adhesive for external-wall-insulation (EWI) decorative integrated panels. On peel the board itself fails before the bond.

Bonds Insulation Board to Every Substrate

One two-component system bonds foam insulation boards to the full range of rigid facings used in insulation panels.

Adhesive types

Types of Insulation-Board Adhesive — and Which to Choose

Foam insulation boards are bonded with several chemistries. PUGLUE’s two-component PU-50 is the choice for structural board-to-facing bonds in insulation panels.

For decorative integrated insulation panels, plants run the two-component PU-50 — XPS-to-XPS bonding uses a single-component PU. Tell us your board and facing and we’ll confirm.

Applications

Where PUGLUE Foam-Board Adhesive Is Used

From external-wall insulation panels to cold-room insulation, PU-50 bonds foam board to rigid facings across the building-insulation industry.

External Wall Insulation (EWI) Panels

Bonding XPS / EPS to decorative facings for insulation-and-decoration integrated wall panels.

Insulation Decorative Integrated Boards

One-step structural bond for factory-made insulation + decoration composite boards.

Foam Board to Calcium-Silicate / Cement

XPS / EPS bonded to calcium-silicate and foamed-cement board for fire-safe panels.

Foam Board to Steel & Aluminum

Metal-faced insulation panels for facades, partitions and equipment.

Foam Board to Marble & Granite

Lightweight stone-faced insulation and decorative panels.

Building & Cold-Room Insulation

Facade insulation, cold rooms and equipment insulation needing water and weather resistance.

Engineered Performance

Solvent-free, strong and weatherproof — the profile insulation-panel lines require.

1

Solvent-free & clean

≥99% solids with no benzene, formaldehyde or solvent — safe, low-emission room-temperature curing.

2

High bond strength

On peel the foam board itself fails before the glue line — a true structural bond.

3

Water, cold & weather resistant

Keeps panels stable through moisture, cold and outdoor weathering.

4

Thixotropic — no sag

Holds on vertical and overhead joints with no run or flash-off needed before pressing.

How to mix & apply

Mixing & Application

A two-component 5:1 system for board lamination.

1

Clean the surface

Make sure the board and facing surfaces are free of oil and dust.

2

Mix A : B = 5 : 1

Mix components A and B at 5:1 by weight with a power stirrer until uniform (stir settled A first).

3

Apply 150–300 g/m²

Spread with a toothed scraper or roll coater. For roller use, pour in small batches to avoid set-up on the roller.

4

Composite & press

Lay up and press within the <15 min pot life; cure at room temperature (time varies with temperature).

Frequently Asked Questions

XPS / EPS foam-board adhesive (PU-50) — technical answers for insulation-panel makers.

What adhesive bonds XPS / EPS foam board to other materials?

A two-component, solvent-free polyurethane — PUGLUE PU-50 (A : B = 5 : 1). It bonds XPS and EPS boards to calcium-silicate board, foamed-cement board, steel, aluminum and stone, curing at room temperature for insulation-and-decoration integrated panels.

What is the mixing ratio and pot life?

Mix A : B = 5 : 1 by weight. The mixed adhesive has a pot life of under 15 minutes at room temperature, so mix only what you can apply in time.

Is it solvent-free and low-emission?

Yes — it is ≥99% solids with no benzene, no formaldehyde and no solvent, and cures at room temperature.

How strong is the bond?

It is a structural bond — on peel testing the foam board itself fails before the glue line.

How much adhesive do I need (coverage)?

Coating weight is 150–300 g/m², tuned to board and facing porosity.

Can I bond XPS board to XPS board with it?

For foam-to-foam (XPS-to-XPS) bonding we recommend a single-component PU; the two-component PU-50 is for bonding foam board to rigid facings such as board, metal and stone.

Is it suitable for exterior / weather exposure?

Yes — the cured bond is water-, cold- and weather-resistant, suited to external-wall insulation panels and facades.

How is it applied?

Clean the surfaces, mix A : B 5:1 with a power stirrer, spread 150–300 g/m² with a toothed scraper or roll coater, then composite and press within the pot life. Cure at room temperature.

What is the packaging and storage?

Component A ships in 25 kg iron drums and component B in 5 kg plastic drums (5:1 set). Store away from direct sunlight; stir settled component A before use.

Do you offer samples, TDS, MOQ and OEM?
